Association

The Cyprus Tech Association, a non-for-profit entity, aspires to provide a dynamic platform for all tech professionals and international ICT companies established in Cyprus to discuss, promote, and address common challenges. It also provides a formal representation to all its members to forums, public and private entities, as well as offers direction on key strategic issues, including the economic importance of the ICT sector and policy advocacy.

International Involvement

The Association aims to:

  • Promote Cyprus as a modernized and well-regulated jurisdiction for all types of technologies including Blockchain, AI, IoT, VR/AR, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Fintech, Gaming, as well as other kinds of Innovative Technologies, being part of the Technology Sector.
  • Represent the Technology Sector worldwide, in international organizations and other bodies.
  • Encourage investments in the Technology Sector.
  • Collaborate with EU and other international associations for tech.

Local Support

The Association aims to:

  • Encourage start-ups or scale-ups in the field of technology and provide assistance and support.
  • Function in transparency as an independent advisory body in the Technology Sector, for the scientific support of the private and public sectors and any other relevant bodies.
  • Promote and support of young scientists of both genders, during their involvement in the Technology Sector.
  • Provide capacity building with best practices.
  • Further enhance the tech infrastructure.
  • Organize events on tech trends and development.
  • Cooperate with other relevant organizations and systematically monitor the developments in the Technology Sector.

Assembly

The General Assembly consists of all members of the Association, that elects the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors is comprised of highly reputable industry professionals and its role is to manage matters related to the Association and to ensure that its objectives are being achieved.

Association Members

The members of the Association are divided into Regular, and Honorary.

Regular
Members

Regular members of the Association are natural persons. The members of the Association are registered in the Registry of Members.

Honorary
Members

Honorary members shall be declared by decision of the Board of Directors, persons who have excelled in society and who have provided or can provide exceptional services for the purposes of the Association.

Interested in becoming a member?

A person who wishes to become a member of the Association may complete an application form, provided it meets all the relevant criteria. The application must be supported by at least one existing member of the Association. The membership fee shall be paid together with the application. Honorary members have no financial obligations.

All members must make every effort to promote the aims of the Association within the legal framework.

Kyriacos Kyriacou

President

General Manager of NCR Cyprus Ltd the first multinational ICT company that stepped its foot in Cyprus since May 1955. Technology person active for the last twenty years in the ICT Sector in Cyprus, sixteen of which at NCR. Graduate of UMIST University in Manchester, United Kingdom, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master's degree in business in technology. He has been serving on the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation since 2016, as well as the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cyprus. In April 2021 he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Tech Association under the auspices of Invest Cyprus (Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency).

Yiannis Tinis

VP

Yiannis Tinis, Head of amdocs Cyprus. He has been an amdocs senior manager for the last 20 years, responsible for developing and implementing strategy, managing change and large projects, including overall accountability for programs management, with extensive experience in Europe, the Americas and Asia-pacific.

With more than 25 years in the field of corporate operations and after a few years spent managing amdocs Americas operations, he returned to Cyprus in 2017 and was appointed as Head of amdocs Cyprus, which he continues to lead on its journey of serving the world’s leading communications and media companies.

Marios Tannousis

Deputy Director General

Marios Tannousis holds the post of Deputy Director General at Invest Cyprus. He has more than twenty four years of international corporate experience, with twelve years in the international banking and financial services group Societe Generale, where he served at various key posts.

He is a Member of the Board of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) as well as the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA). He also served as President of the Cyprus Finance & Leasing Association and Board Member in various other organizations and bodies.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Rutgers University, NJ, USA and an MBA from Mankato State University (MSU), MN, USA.

He is also Certified for offering investment services and has a special interest in Economic Development through Investments especially in Banking, Financial Services and Investment Funds.

He represents Cyprus in various international and European Conferences.

Avi Sela

COO of eToro Group Limited since inception, 2007 Serves as Managing Director of eToro EU LTD and as Executive Director of eToro Uk Ltd. He holds an - Bachelor of Law and LLB from Bar-Ilan University followed by an MBA, Finance and Marketing, Kellogg North Western -Recanati

Pavlos Chrostoforou

Board Member

He worked along Yannis Matsis to design and build a comprehensive financial platform supporting all aspects of credit derivative and interest rate derivative trading covering trade capturing, legal details capturing, valuations, cash flow and accrual analysis, liquidity analysis, credit,interest, fx and counterparty risk and comprehensive reporting.

He founded with Yannis Matsis, Point Nine Financial Technologies with the goal to commercialise the financial platform developed over the previous 2.5 years and taking the role as head of technology.

He relocated Point Nine Limited to Cyprus and continued working as head of technology until eventually taking over the CEO role.

He led the acquisition of Point Nine Limited by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation and the subsequent establishment of MUFG Investment Services Fintech Limited as an independent entity within the group with a broad mandate to apply our technology and platform across its business lines.
